Why free? Because it should be. Getting back in touch with old friends should be something you can do on the internet without
having to pay an arm and a leg. Can we make it work? I think so. For over 20 years I've made a living by
writing shareware, where folks
only pay if they find the software useful. I'm hoping that concept will also work here and those who find our service useful
will support us and our advertisers.
How does this whole process work? When creating a search you include a hint that identifies you to the person you're searching for. This helps those who match your search criteria know if they're really the person you're searching for. If they are, then they can send a message to you. To protect everyone's privacy, we act as a middleman allowing you to exchange messages without revealing your email address. In their email they should include something that will uniquely identify them to you. That way everyone is confident that who they're corresponding with is really who they say they are. Should you decide to continue corresponding with them then just put whatever contact information you want to share (your email address for example) into one of your messages. We never release your email address to anyone, that's your choice. It's that simple. Pricing is simple as well. It's
completely free! (Although we do depend on the generous support of our members to stay in business)
How do you protect against spam? As described above, you will include a hint in your search that will identify you to the person you're searching for, and should they choose to send a message back to you they will also include something that will uniquely identify them to you. If they don't then ask them to do so before you continue corresponding. Make sure they're who they say they are! If you receive a message that is clearly spam then let us know by following the instructions in the message. We'll review the message and if we agree it's spam we'll delete their account immediately without notice. We will NOT tolerate spam. And remember, we never release your email address.

How can you do this when other sites are charging $30-$60 a year for less service? Our costs are incredibly low. We spend next to nothing on advertising but instead rely on friends telling friends. Truth is, we don't need much. We're hoping that with your support (there are multiple wasy you can help and most won't cost you a dime) we'll do okay. We've been successfully doing business on the Internet for a long time and are dedicated to keeping this site running and reconnects free.
